Georges’ mother was a bassist with the Duke Ellington Orchestra as a teenager. His father George Sr. was an alumnus of the Miles Davis Quintet. George Jr. attended the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Performing Arts and studied with Michael Carvin and Billy Higgins. George Jr. also has played and recorded with Joey DeFrancesco, Dakota Staton, Gregory Porter, Brian Charette, to name a few.
