Bringing the soul of Memphis and the rhythm of Cuba together, father and son, the jazz tradition in the past, present, and future. This project has been years in the making, and so many hands and hearts have made this album a reality.

In addition to the amazing musicians who lend their talent to this album, the engineers, and the studio, I want to give a special shoutout to my teacher Michael Carvin who expertly produced this album. Michael was at the studio with me before anyone else and worked with me and the engineer to get the great drum sound you hear on "Resurgence."

George Coleman Jr New York, New York

Georges’ mother was a bassist with the Duke Ellington Orchestra as a teenager. His father George Sr. was an alumnus of the Miles Davis Quintet. George Jr. attended the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Performing Arts and studied with Michael Carvin and Billy Higgins. George Jr. also has played and recorded with Joey DeFrancesco, Dakota Staton, Gregory Porter, Brian Charette, to name a few. ... more
