This track is one of only three on my album entitled, "Resurgence" that George Coleman Sr. composed by him. It was first recorded on album by Master drummer Elvin Jones called, “Skyscrapers Vol 1" released in 1977. It’s a blues with a particularly tricky melody that weaves through the standard 12-bar blues structure which Mike DiRubbo handles on alto sax quite nicely. Mike captured the vibe I was going for on this track and played it strongly with a killer swinging feel! Elvin along with Max Roach were key inspirations for choosing the drums as my main instrument so this track is one, I really enjoyed playing on.

Georges’ mother was a bassist with the Duke Ellington Orchestra as a teenager. His father George Sr. was an alumnus of the Miles Davis Quintet. George Jr. attended the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Performing Arts and studied with Michael Carvin and Billy Higgins.
